We Persuaded Hiscox (but only once) to reveal the premium it had charged for 33 Kenilworth Road, St Leonards on Sea.

The premium was £272.74p.

Chase Longman charged £909.15p inclusive of all premiums, Insurance Premium Tax, commissions, administration/service charges and disbursements.

The premium of £272.74p would include a legal commission of £54.55p or 20% of the premium, The sum of £272.74p would be subject to Insurance Premium Tax.

Therefore the difference of £636.41p would have to be subject to VAT and openly disclosed to be legal.

VAT is not paid on it therefore the charge cannot be legal.
